This record first saw the light of day back in 1978 and was never reissued on vinyl.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNot only was this album the only one ever released by the singer, it seems that security has claimed her ever since. Only three singles under her name have come forth, one standalone 7” called ‘\u003cstrong\u003eGee Wiz Boy\u003c\/strong\u003e – backed with ‘\u003cstrong\u003eMy Man Is Coming Home\u003c\/strong\u003e' - followed by ‘\u003cstrong\u003eAlfie\/Dancin’ in the Name of Love\u003c\/strong\u003e’ in support of her album. After the Maxi-Single ‘\u003cstrong\u003eMy Love (Ain't Gonna Never Let You Get Away)\u003c\/strong\u003e’ – again using ‘\u003cstrong\u003eDancin’ in the Name of Love\u003c\/strong\u003e’ for the B-side – she has literally vanished from any and all charts.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHer legacy lives on, though. Apart from the obscurity that surrounds both the record and its performer, another important detail makes this disc an important collector’s item. For it seems that \u003cstrong\u003eRegina James\u003c\/strong\u003e was a protégé of none other than legendary songwriter, producer, and vocalist \u003cstrong\u003eClarence Reid\u003c\/strong\u003e, who actually became (in)famous through his controversial XXX-rated stage persona \u003cstrong\u003eBlowfly\u003c\/strong\u003e!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMany of the songs on \u003cstrong\u003eDancin’ in the Name of Love\u003c\/strong\u003e were written by him – including the title track. Catchy soul, funk, and disco rhythms are given an extra dimension by various synthetic sound effects and \u003cstrong\u003eJames’ sultry vocals\u003c\/strong\u003e.
