DESCRIPTION

The limited-edition 2010 release "kocorono Kanzenban" is being issued on LP for the first time.

Formed in Sapporo, Hokkaido, in 1986, bloodthirsty butchers are a truly unique rock band, with a sonic presence and atmosphere unlike anything found either in Japan or overseas. Even now, 13 years after the band’s activities came to a halt, their influence shows no sign of fading.

Their fourth full-length album, "kocorono," was originally released on October 23, 1996, and is regarded as a historic masterpiece. In 2010, the remastered "kocorono Kanzenban" was released with an additional track.

Exactly 30 years after the original album’s release, "kocorono Kanzenban" will be issued on LP for the first time on October 23, 2026, as a double album pressed on 180g heavyweight vinyl.

Beginning with "February" and ending with "December," "kocorono" portrays an 11-month sequence of emotional landscapes. It had a tremendous impact on numerous artists and creators, while also leaving them with a certain sense of resignation. For devoted rock listeners, it remains a singularly special album. A monumental work in the history of Japanese rock, it continues to attract new fans today. Despite never having been released overseas or made available digitally, it has captivated dedicated international listeners and has even appeared in Rate Your Music’s ranking of the greatest Japanese music albums of all time. Rooted in Hokkaido, the band’s music reflects the loneliness of the region’s cold climate and vast landscapes, directly shaping a sound that is both fierce and strangely frigid.

This marks the first LP release of "kocorono Kanzenban," the limited edition originally issued in March 2010. By adding "January," a song not included on the original "kocorono," the album completed its full 12-month story. Three full days were spent on the remastering process at the time, resulting in a dramatic transformation from the original release. In addition to the inclusion of "January," sounds not present on the original version were also added, giving this edition a quality that goes far beyond conventional remastering. The double 180g heavyweight vinyl format is another major attraction for analog enthusiasts.
