DESCRIPTION

  • 1xSACD

A landmark album representing 1980s Japanese City Pop, Kingo Hamada—renowned as a prolific melody maker—released his fourth album, "Midnight Cruisin’", in 1982 as his first work after joining the Alfa Moon label (under the name Kingo Hamada). It is now being reissued as a long-awaited SACD Hybrid edition.

The album’s biggest highlight is the track "Machi no Dolphin", which gained global attention after being sampled overseas around 2018 and re-emerged online under the name "Crystal Dolphin". The track has surpassed 100 million views on YouTube and continues to rank among the top 50 most-viewed tracks on YouTube Shorts, attracting a passionate following not only from City Pop fans but also from Gen Z listeners worldwide.

For this release, the original master tapes were archived at 96kHz/24bit, and the 2020 remastered audio is used. This definitive edition delivers the viral hit in high-resolution SACD-quality sound, making it an essential release for both new listeners and longtime audiophiles.
