RELEASE DESCRIPTION

Ky, the France-based unit of saxophonist Maki Nakano and baritone guitarist and oud player Yann Pittard, will release a collection of works on analog LP on the 100th anniversary of Erik Satie's passing.

The duo has been presenting their interpretations of Satie's music since its formation in 2005, blending spontaneous improvisation.

A compilation of 10 songs from past works, plus newly recorded material.

The spirit of Satie from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century is captured in this minimalist and unexpected centennial Erik Satie work, arranged with Middle Eastern, Western, and electronic instruments, with saxophone, songs, and guest performers on traditional instruments.
