DESCRIPTION

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of his solo debut, legendary Japanese guitarist Masayoshi Takanaka celebrates his milestone with remastered releases of his most beloved works from the Kitty Years.

As a pioneering figure in the global Japanese fusion boom, Takanaka continues to captivate fans across Japan, Europe, and the U.S. These special reissues were remastered and cut at London’s Abbey Road Studios using high-resolution audio transferred directly from the original master tapes. All three titles were handled by Abbey Road’s renowned engineer, Alex Wharton. Each comes as a 180g heavyweight vinyl release, pressed on colored vinyl inspired by the original jacket artwork.

This live album captures performances from Takanaka’s 1980–81 "POWER PLAY ’80 & ’81" tour, featuring a medley of classics such as "BELEZA PULA," "Tokyo Reggae," "TAJ MAHAL," and "MAMBO NO.5 (DISCO DANGO)," as well as selections from "The Rainbow Goblins" and his debut album "SEYCHELLES." A dynamic showcase of Takanaka’s live brilliance.
