Rock and jazz in Japan... there was a time when the two genres came so passionately together! Mickey Yoshino's legendary 1st solo album "1970," recorded when he was 18 years old, is finally being released on record after more than half a century!

Mickey Yoshino, a prodigious keyboard player, attracted attention from many quarters at a young age. In 1970, when he was 18 years old and a member of The Golden Cups, he recorded his first solo album with a star-studded lineup that transcended the boundaries of jazz and rock, but it remained unreleased until now.

Composed by Mickey Yoshino (Hammond organ, clavinet), arranged by Masahiko Sato, drums by Takeshi Inomata, bass by Masamitsu Terakawa, guitar by Kimio Mizutani, percussion by Naomi Kawahara... This precious session remained unreleased for many years, but in 2008 the master tapes were miraculously discovered, and it was first released as a CD titled "Me and '70s". In 2016, a 7-inch single was released featuring the two opening tracks of the album, "GET WILD" and "HINODE," which sold out immediately and remains a highly coveted item among club DJs.

In recent years, this early Japanese new rock, psychedelic, and jazz scene has been attracting increasing attention from a wide range of listeners overseas. It greedily absorbs diverse musical styles, with each instrument vying for attention with a strong sense of rhythm, and the sound is of astonishing quality, imbuing it with the social conditions and chaos of 1970.
