Taking inspiration from timeless jazz standards
Music from universes of Kirby, Donkey Kong, Crash Bandicoot, UNDERTALE, and KINGDOM HEARTS

The neon sign floods the lounge with a magenta haze. Chatter and clink of glasses dissipate as the jazz band sets up. As the lights dim, the venue becomes more intimate.

This is Jazz Hop Standards, and you're all set for a relaxing evening. Kick up your shoes, hang up your keyblade, and let Save Point and Patrick McBride guide you on a journey through the universes of Kirby, Donkey Kong, Crash Bandicoot, UNDERTALE, KINGDOM HEARTS, and more while taking inspiration from timeless jazz standards.

“I'd like to thank my wife and daughter for putting up with my late-night upright recording. My bass mentors, SavePoint, Featured Artists, and Curaga Records for this amazing opportunity.” - Patrick

“Special thanks to Rob Kovacs for always lending an ear and providing meaningful, critical feedback. To Patrick, I had such a blast making this album with you. To 88bit, Tabitha Louise, and SideQuest, your features add so much depth and charm to our tracks. To Bob Lundquist, Steve Herrick, and all the music teachers I've had over the years. Additional thanks to my wifey Shelby, who has always believed in me, and to Lily for always humming along and playing Kirby with me. To my always supportive Mom and Dad, for your love of Jazz that was passed along to me, and to my Granpa DeWees, who inspired this entire album.” - Save Point

The Best Thing We've Heard in a Long Time

I absolutely LOVE this soundtrack! I'd asked an AI for some chilled-out pieces or soundtracks based on my taste for Sigur Rós and Low Roar, and Volker Bertelmann's score for All Quiet on the Western Front was one of the suggestions. I fell in love with it the minute I heard that repeated, haunting melody. He keeps coming back to it, and the moments he chooses to bring it back are what make it so powerful. The rest of the music is brilliant too. The whole thing just works, and it was worth the trouble it took to track down a new copy and the money I paid for it.
My wife works from home in an open loft upstairs, so she hears everything I play. When I got home from work, this had been delivered, so I logged it, put it on, and turned it up to a serious level. When it was time to flip to side B, she yelled down, "What was that? It was amazing!" After it was over she came downstairs to look at the cover and ask more about it. We both agreed it was the best thing we'd heard in a long time.
If you like atmospheric, emotional music that stays with you, get this one. Five stars, easily.
