Originally recorded primarily for the Dao Guo Zhi Qing Ge series, which began releases in Hong Kong and Taiwan in 1975, Teresa Teng’s first Mandarin album was released in Japan by Polydor in March 1979 as an LP (14 tracks) and cassette (21 tracks). Now, it returns as a super high-end analog edition: the “100% Pure LP”. This edition compiles the 21-track cassette version across 3LPs, featuring signature hits such as “Ermo Jiaqi”, “Lei de Xiao Yu”, her biggest Polydor-era hit “Qingren de Guanhuai”, alongside classic Chinese songs and newly written material.

“100% Pure LP” is a premium, Made-in-Japan analog series launched in 2012, widely recognized as a pioneer of modern audiophile vinyl. One of its defining features is the use of uncolored virgin vinyl, eliminating all colorants such as carbon that can affect sound quality. By using only pure polyvinyl chloride, it significantly enhances molding stability.

Another key feature is metal master pressing. By eliminating the conventional steps involving metal mothers and stampers, records are pressed directly from the metal master, allowing for exceptionally accurate groove formation. Due to reduced durability, however, production quantities are strictly limited.

This release also adopts 45RPM instead of the standard 33⅓ RPM. While this requires a multi-disc format due to reduced playing time per side, it allows for wider and longer grooves, higher rotational stability, and superior detail reproduction and dynamic range.

The audio is sourced from newly transferred 96kHz/24bit WAV files created from the original analog master tapes. The mastering is kept as flat as possible to preserve freshness, dynamic range, and the natural character of the original sound.

By meticulously refining every stage—from master sourcing and vinyl material selection to the pressing process—“100% Pure LP” brings out the full potential of analog records. Retaining the warmth and punch unique to vinyl while eliminating impurities and coloration, it delivers a sound that is truly pure and crystal clear.
