About Yasukuni Terashima:
Yasukuni Terashima (born February 11, 1938) is a Japanese jazz critic. He is known as the owner and master of the jazz cafe "Meg" in Kichijoji, but he has also written many books on jazz and audio. He was born in Nakano Ward, Tokyo. He graduated from Suginami High School and the German Literature Department of the Faculty of Letters at Waseda University. He opened the jazz cafe "Meg" in 1970. He then began writing about jazz, and since publishing his debut work "Karaguchi! JAZZ Notes," he has also been exploring audio using his royalties, publishing critiques and essays in jazz and audio magazines. In 2007, he launched his own label "Terashima Records," which he produced himself. His first release, "Alone Together / Matsuo Akira Trio," is based on the themes of "songs of melancholy, performances of guts," "three-minute art," and "new retro fidelity sound," and he was particular about the recording and jacket. As of May 2009, 12 analog records have been released, with different jackets from the CDs. He also teaches jazz at the Asahi Culture Center, Tamagawa Community Club, and Waseda University Open College.
